To make technically very good wines that have honest expressions of varietal fruit. That’s my winemaking philosophy. – Rod Hooper

David Richards – Winemaker

David Richards studied Viticulture & Winemaking at University of Western Sydney from 2004-2009. David started working as a cellar hand in New Zealand from 2007. Moved to working as an Assistant Winemaker in 2010 at Project Wines, Langhorne Creek. Worked as winemaker at Robert Stein Winery, Mudgee, and most recently as Winemaker/Vineyard manager at Faber Vineyards, Swan Valley WA, Seppelts Wines, Great Western VIC, & Dr Frank Wines, Finger Lakes New York. David has completed 14 vintages in 8 years, in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, USA & Turkey.

Post studies I had a thirst to continue my knowledge, which led me to travel, completing over 14 vintages world wide. This hands on experience has given me the ability to blend the best of traditional techniques with the most current wine techniques. This has given me a well rounded skill set that I am ever developing, which is evident through the wines I create. – David Richards
